Jesus Rises from the Dead

Bible based presentation

The first glorious mystery

Matthew 27:62 And the next day, which followed the day of preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees came together to Pilate,

63 Saying: Sir, we have remembered, that that seducer said, while he was yet alive: After three days I will rise again.

64 Command the tomb to be guarded therefore until the third day: in case perhaps his disciples come and steal him away, and say to the people: He is risen from the dead; and the last error shall be worse than the first.

65 Pilate said to them: You have a guard; go, guard it as you know.

66 And they departing, made the tomb sure, sealing the stone, and setting guards.

Matthew 28:1 After the sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen and the other Mary, to see the tomb.

2 And behold there was a great earthquake. For an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and coming, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.

3 And his face was as lightning, and his robe as snow.

4 And for fear of him, the guards were struck with terror, and became as dead men.

5 And the angel answering, said to the women: Fear not; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

6 He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Come, and see the place where the Lord was laid.

7 And go quickly, tell his disciples that he is risen: and behold he will go before you into Galilee; there you shall see him. Lo, I have foretold it to you.

8 And they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, running to tell his disciples.

9 And behold Jesus met them, saying: Greetings. But they came up and took hold of his feet, and adored him.

10 Then Jesus said to them: Fear not. Go, tell my brothers to go into Galilee, there they shall see me.

16 ..And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had instructed.

17 And seeing him they adored: but some hesitated.

18 And Jesus came up to them, and spoke, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go therefore, teach all nations; baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

20 Teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you: and behold I am with you always, even to the end of the world.
